There might be an embargo on remixing their own material but hot damn do The Allergies know how to flip someone else’s. In this case that someone else will be breakbeat veterans, Fort Knox Five whose Insight features rapper Asheru came out fourteen odd years ago. It’s a perfectly serviceable slice of funky hip-hop, so you’re tempted to think, why does anyone need to remix that? Enter the Bristol duo who heavy up the drums and layer them a bit more too while swapping out an organ loop for a bit of squalling geetar instead. Party rebooted! Also comes complete with DJ Tanner video edit. Altogether now – ‘Get up, stand up/ You got to put your hands up!’
