Get ATA Records dropping the new double A-side 45 featuring both The Sorcerers (with a revised line-up) and The Outer World Jazz Ensemble! The former’s Exit Athens is a brisk slice of psychedelic Ethio-funk evoking a myriad of tense seventies thrillers set in exotic locations while lending itself to smokier and more tripped-out dancefloors. Keeping the Ethio-vibe vibe but heading in a jazzier direction on the flip meanwhile is debut of The Outer World Jazz Ensemble with Beg, Borrow, Play. The Ensemble was conceived as a way of releasing material by the sidemen of the Leeds funk, Latin and Ethio/ Afro music scenes and the idea is that each release features a guest player. In the case of Beg, Borrow, Play, that guest is none other than Chip Wickham!
