It’s been a long road to getting this out – the small matter of a pandemic being only one among multifarious delays that nearly meant no vinyl drop at all. Ultimately however, the forces of light have triumphed – in so sudden and final a turnaround that Mako & Mr Bristow’s Stank Soul Edits Vol.6 arrived before the PR was finalised. So let’s cut to the chase – on the one side – Stealin’ Alright; on t’other side – Stolen Nolan. Cheeky! The former takes a back-in-the-day tropical funk cut, replete with steel drums and chops and edits the original’s seven plus minutes down to fit on 45, while the latter re-versions the classic original’s 6:4 time into rather more conventional 4:4 time. Oh – and naturally, the bass and drums have been tinkered with to give them a tad more definition so they slot equally well into party breaks sets and those rich in original un-edited productions in that good ol’ stanky way.
