JIMI HENDRIX: Move Ya (Smoove ‘Drums Of Death’ remix) (2013)

Hot on the heels of recent posthumous Hendrix LP People, Hell & Angels comes Move Ya on which Smoove anticipates the public’s need for drums, bass and more drums. It’s a characteristically Smoove ‘Drums Of Death’ b-boy remix of album cut Let Me Move You, Jimi’s 1969 rock n soul collab with saxophonist Lonnie Youngblood. While not currently available as a free download and despite lacking any apparent release date, the accompanying text warning on soundcloud, ‘this will destroy dancefloors,’ and the comment clamour beneath the player suggest that if it is your burning desire, it won’t be long before you are able to stand next to Smoove’s remix fire…

  1. Wonderful stuff. Thanks for posting this Mr. Monkeyboxing. I didn’t realise that the Hendrix/Lonnie Youngblood collaboration was so LATE in the ’60s. Do we actually know who the drummer is? Buddy Miles perhaps?
