BOCA 45: ‘Pitch Sounds’ LP now on digital (2011)

Boca, boca, boca! It’s the digital release of Bristolian producer Boca 45’s debut LP Pitch Sounds originally released on vinyl and cd back in 2004 on which he made good on his claim to try and make beats, “how they might sound if they were recorded in 1968 in massive studios with real musicians.” Basically it’s a solid fifteen track LP which takes in beat-boxing, b-boy breaks, cinematic instrumentals, hip-hop and even rnb on the Stephanie-Mckay featuring In The City. Other guest spots come from Retna & The Reds, Tammy Payne and beatboxer Monkey Moo. If you didn’t pick it up the first time around, you’ll be wondering why not and with all the boom-bap and trip-ho– er I mean downtempo breaks coming out right now, it’s the perfect time for a re-release.
(Out 9 December on Freesoul 45)

Enjoy the unmistakable first album from one of the busiest and most_successful producers in the modern breakbeat scene. This release sees a reshuffled teamsheet, a new teamshirt, and Boca’s also drafted in three additional players to reinforce the digital team: Steady Rockin’ (sweeper), The Boca Breakdown (striker) and La Bombonera (winger). Go breakin’ and shakin’ to Boca’s jive…but keep in mind…it’s 45

Pitch Sounds has already been released on vinyl and CD, but has never _seen the digital light of life. Here comes together what belongs together _for all the digital 45 heads, whether on turntable or headphones.
