Damn – another one that slipped past – meant to write about this blistering return from Ghost Funk Orchestra a while back (it’s been out a fortnight already) but fumbled the catch and it’s been languishing in the back of the monkey’s inbox. And while singer Camellia Hartman might holler Leave Me Alone – this one deserves to be shouted about. Forging a fuzz-laden psych-funk-garage rock groove, GFO return to their roots with a definite pivot away from the jazzier, wafty expansiveness of recent drops and it’s a banger. Check out the video on which we all learn something about over-confidence in the dating game. Leave Me Alone is taken from the forthcoming fifth Ghost Funk Orchestra long player Yours in The Ranks of Death which follows on 4 December.
(Out now on Colemine Records)
