THE OFFLINE: Les Amis

On a retro cinematic tip once more, producer The Offline continues to soundtrack the burgeoning imaginary romantic relationship on Les Amis that he begun to score on previous single Fumée. It all starts very blissfully with pensive guitar jangles over a chilled drum break but it’s not too long before a more strident and moody note creeps into proceedings. The couple’s first tiff perhaps? He cuts his toenails on the bed? The bathroom looks like it’s been in the path of a cyclone after she’s finished in there? Or maybe the presence of wind instruments towards the end of the track suggests that one of them wants the toilet roll dispensing paper over the top of the roll while one prefers it to dispense from underneath and behind. We’ve all been there and we all know the latter is just plain wrong.
