MB regulars will know producer The Offline for his retro instrumental compositions over the last year or so inspired by French Atlantic coast surf spots. Still inspired by the French coast, it’s the Med that’s his muse on a new round of material to be found on his forthcoming Les Cigales EP and the first track to drop is Rhodes-led cut Fumée which continues to betray a love of seventies 70s library music to rival his love of la côte Française. It seems our man has another cinematic narrative in mind too – one in which two people are in search of each other – and a setting – in this case Marseilles – a city arguably as well known for its crime as its sun-soaked climate. These dualities are reflected in the way the track tonally switches between light and dark throughout its just over two and a half minute length.
