Now signed to the same label as The Aggrolites are Santa Cruz-based, ten-piece northern soul outfit The Inciters who have a new album just out and whose current single is the LP title track Bring Back The Weekend. Turns out the track had been gestating in the mind of the band’s saxophonist for two years and was originally intended as a ‘thank you’ to the bus driver who rescued them from a freezing Paris pavement until the opening line, “Hold on tightly/ Gonna ride this rhythm to the very top,” popped into his brain like, well, maybe like a bus suddenly turning up out of the blue. And in that moment this full-on stomper became an anthem for those two days of freedom after the five-day grind.
