My Sound Is Heavy is the new single collaboration between Subatomic Sound System and veteran dancehall vocalist Screechy Dan. The track’s genesis was Dan doing a freestyle over the band’s Augustus Pablo-style ‘Melodica Dub’ version of instrumental track Ancient Wisdom while on tour opening for Jack Johnson and Stephen Marley last year. What had become a paean to a Kingston woman, a soundsystem and the crowd was a massive hit with – well – the crowd, so it would’ve been rude not to record a studio version frankly. The single comes with both the instro Melodica Dub and the even dubbier, Dubstrumental version.
