It’s all about the hip-hop/ jazz/ 80s boogie splice on new Potatohead People single Last Night featuring Redman. And what could be more ‘last night’ than a sedate beat laced with wah-wah trumpet and Rhodes piano? Probably one on which veteran emcee Redman regales one and all with a tale packed full of such small hours shenanigans as smoking spliffs, visiting late-night eateries, being pulled over by the cops and er – getting head from the girlfriend at the traffic lights. In that order. Clearly a night on which the cops didn’t have itchy nightstick hands then. Well, that and the fact that one of them previously scored some weed off our narrator to help with his mum’s cancer. Everybody’s happy! This is the first single to be taken from Potatohead People’s forthcoming album, Eat Your Heart Out.
