The Scribes’ Jonny Steele steps out on a solo mission to examine the current situation in Gaza under a lyrical microscope over a beat by One Soul on new single X1 To Netanya. Both the Israeli and western governments are in his firing line – the former for its actions, the latter for its approach to the former’s actions. Steel is clearly a brave man given that partisan declarations for either side in the conflict have prompted extreme reactions in what is an incredibly emotive situation rooted immediately in mid-twentieth century political manoeuvres which were themselves rooted in – oohh – at least three thousand years of Levantine history. One thing’s for certain – as usual – there are a lot of innocent people paying a heavy price.
