More 90s head-nod boom-bap dope from Dusty Platter and damn if it ain’t those Jazz Spastiks again – this time in the company of L.A. crew Cheddy and MP a.k.a. Rebels To The Grain with the fifteen-track Unkut Fresh. Thus in time-honoured fashion it’s yet another effortlessly classy pairing of UK production talent and Stateside microphone magic – see also Format and Phill Most Chill, Bankrupt Europeans and Phil Most Chill, Bankrupt Europeans and Rise and fellow Dusty Platter signings Kista and Glad2Mecha.
The fresh foursome originally hooked up some years back and this LP is the consequence of collecting together both new and old tracks culminating in a wet dream for fans of both laid back West Coast and jazzy NY boom-bap, redolent as this is with shades of both PUTS and ATCQ. Naturally the only decent thing to do was put it out on wax and Dusty Platter do the honourable thing with a run of 300 on black vinyl and 200 on positively sexy red wax.
