With no releases since March last year, you might have wondered what had happened to the mighty Soul Flip Edits label. Well fear not, for after a label management and logo reboot, the brand spanking new Soul Flip 16 vinyl 7″ finally drops towards the end of this month. Of course, that’s the sort of event that requires, no, demands, something big. So what else could the lead cut be for this but Sam & Dave’s Soul Man – now given a muscular (though still sympathetic to the sound of the original) re-work. The B-side – a bit more mellow but liable to be equally popular on the floor – is a slick beefing up of The O’Jays’ Now That We Found Love. Consider that two slabs of soul properly flipped!
