Echo Chamber Recordings’ subsidiary for original output – Echo Labs – drops another biggie shortly with the arrival of Oddball Creatives (a.k.a, Daniel Walls and Jospeh Malik) single Wondering & Wishing Like Me. The track comes in vocal and insturmental versions and features Philly rapper Kameela Waheed as well as Scots jazz veteran Colin Steele with Darren Morris on Wurlitzer and Hammond. The vibe is firmly a 90s one and channels the likes of classic Acid Jazz and Us3 opening with a organ instro and then breaking to an uptempo soul-jazz groove over which Malik and Waheed hold forth. Released 30 years ago this would’ve stormed the top ten as the pop sound of summer but in 2026 you’ll be getting just a super limited 300-copy run featuring the instro on the flip. Don’t wish or wonder – get on it!
