Aesop Rock & Blockhead continue their long-held partnership and are shortly to release a new LP entitled Trouble Mountain. Before that though, here’s first single, Trouble Trouble. Musically turning on a loose-limbed, library-music-influenced beat with decidedly Eastern flavours from Blockhead, it features Aesop Rock contemplating the Himalayan level of shit life throws at you. Any chance of a video? What about an animated one which actualises the metaphor of a mountain of trouble into a literal ski resort with a p.o.v. protagonist skiing downhill on an appropriately bump and tree-pocked black run. Which, after said protagonist drops both sticks to flip the double-bird at world, rapidly becomes rather psychedelic as the downhill route continues beneath the sea and then a flaming hellscape before crashing through the pearly gates and then cycling back through the previous scenarios again. Because trouble never leaves you alone, right?
