The Life is the third single from the forthcoming Keep Your Step LP by Milan-based retro-reggae outfit The Appetizers which finds them in rocksteady mode. Unlike 99% of all rocksteady songs ever though, this toy organ-led number finds the band sticking it to the man and his mad obsession with constant monetary profit. Which means it has rather more lyrically in common with reggae’s stylistically later roots iteration. While members of the band themselves handled production, mastering was the work of JJ Golden who can number Jr. Thomas & The Volcanos, The Frightnrs, Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings and Black Pumas among the recipients of his skills!
