Need to give your track a dancefloor boost in a funky way? X-Ray Ted’s your man. Purveyor of extremely dope funk-soul influenced dancefloor bangers for the last couple of years (see Gimme Soul, Talkin’, Somebody Told Me and Doin My Thing, for example), he’s now been called in to rerub Roast Beatz’ The People featuring Greg Blackman. Already pretty funky, the original featured a gospel-style vocal from Blackman, a simple but effective piano line and a syncopated beat. Recognising its dancefloor potential, Mr Ted has upped the tempo and tweaked the beat, which now features additional percussion adding dancefloor energy and drive to the once sparse kick/ snare pattern. Job’s a good ‘un!
