Respect their existence or expect their resistance! It’s Leeds band Fold back with a bit of fire and fury aimed squarely at the man on new single Resistance, Refusal, Ridicule. Once again, the band ply their tried and tested method of scoring a backdrop to inspirational words of protest – in this case a funky break-based backdrop to the voice of Anat Shenker-Osorio. And as the band don’t like to do things by halves, they turn the tried and tested autocratic strategy of saying something repeatedly until everyone nods along back at the autocrats. And since the public doesn’t have direct control of police, banks and armies, uniting the public in a message in civil rejection of autocracy seems like a good plan! Out as an extremely limited, lathe-cut, 25-copy vinyl 45 as well as digital!
