This is a mash-up alright. Check it out now as Redmo goes deep, using a loop forged from the ominous piano intro to ex-Temptation Eddie Kendricks’ soul epic Girl You Need A Change Of Mind to all but totally replace the Love Unlimited Orchestra sample on Q-Tip’s ’99 banger Vivrant Thing. In doing so, he delivers an effort worthy to accompany the original on a remix…er – tip. So you might well ask, is the original still the don? And the answer would have to be – well shit, yeah. But don’t let that put you off the merits of what the former ATCQ emcee might describe as some ‘heartfelt shit here.’
