MORLACK: Gravity EP

Morlack makes sure you’ve got your feet firmly moving on terra eighties funk with his new three-track Gravity EP. As it often is, the vibe is that of his favourite musical era re-vitalised through the prism of twenty-first century party breaks and the title track is essentially an insistent uptempo funky-disco breaks remix of a certain 80s JB cut. Then it’s the turn of Flirt which saucily slows things down and more than winks at eighties boogie influences and samples with pitch-bending synths and throbbing synth bass. Finally, closer Not Ur Money re-purposes the hook of Oaktown 3.5.7.’s It’s Not Your Money to create a new hook on this eighties-funk-themed chugger.
