Swiss production quartet The Niceguys continue to ride high with the latest in a string of highly effective singles and this time rock it from the old to the new school with Confident. The bedrock of this one is a syncopated funky break and throbbing bass punctuated by antsy guitar, scratches and a dash of horns. It’s the perfect backdrop for Brooklyn emcee Louis Logic to keep his hand in between solo releases and hold forth on the topic of self-assurance. Practically the only thing missing is a catchy hook on the same topic by soul man Mr Greg Blackman. Oh wait, no, they’ve got that covered too. B-boys and girls on your marks then – oops nearly forgot – it also comes with an instro.
