Veteran Dutch funk crew Lefties Soul Connection return with the latest installment of their crunchy drums ‘n searing hammond riffage signature sound at the start of next month. Appropriately named after a kindred disorder to ‘restless leg syndrome’ Akathisia kicks off (thank you, I’m here all week) with the drums of death title track and hectic dancefloor groover Chum Shaker before easing off the bpms somewhat for Lepak‘s channelling of first LP-era Meters. Later on Cheyenne rocks an Italo crime movie vibe a la Calibro 35 but this one’s all about the surf-rock tinged Burning The Cane and especially the low-slung garage-rock hammond stomp of The Waddle. Also comes with bonus skits ripe for the sampling. Should give Steely Chan some material for their next Blender Mash at any rate. EP sampler below!
