THE MIGHTY MOCAMBOS: When We Roll

With the all-new Mighty Mocambos long player A Higher Frequency due in just over a week there’s still time to squeeze in one more single entitled When We Roll. As always, the nine-piece band recorded the track in the MPS Studio live to tape though stylistically it’s a bit of a departure for them as the way they’re rolling on this one is billed as, “boogie funk…[and]…dreamy jazz moods.” Lest you think the Mocambos have gone all Kashif, the PR mentions, “a tight rhythm section” and here, at least, it’s business as usual – think boogie melody and topline but with organic syncopated funk drums and you’re ballpark.
