Oohh hello it’s The Bamboos – haven’t heard from them in a bit – what’s happening? Twenty-seven years together – well I never! Recently all over social media with a staggering one billion plays on TikTok thanks to Rawville LP cut I Don’t Wanna Stop from all the way back in 2006 going organically viral. It’s the kind of thing that makes you want to celebrate with – I don’t know – rockets or maybe flowers. Coincidentally – that is the name of new single Rockets & Flowers. ‘What’s that like?’ I hear you ask. Well, it opens with a big 70s-style horns vamp before settling into a relaxed groove that adds in retro keys and the unmistakeable voice of Kylie Auldist powering over the groove though with a message that’s less about celebrating than reinvigorating a relationship. Still – summery grooves and all that. Who knows – it could go viral with the kids…
