Something a little bit different for you here as the Madrid’s Sinouj outfit get all North-African on your ass with their cover of Gedi Habbouba’s Hak Dellali from back in the 80s. That’s the A-side of this new 45 from Lovemonk Records but of more interest to MB readers will be the flip where a regular name featured on these digital pages gets all breakbeat on Sinouj’s asses with his remix. That’ll be Voodoocuts then who takes the traditional sounds of the original, does a nifty bit of re-arranging and adds in a tech-sounding breakbeat, a fat pulsing bassline and various other bits and bobs and all of a sudden it’s less souk than psych and very much headed for the club.
