On the eve of the next U.S. presidential election comes a timely musical reminder from Fold about exploitative power structures. That’ll be their limited CD EP then, entitled We Do Not Forget and accompanied by a twenty-eight page hand-illustrated ‘zine. Numbering five tracks on the digital version and 8 tracks on the limited CD EP, the release consists of some material from the last three years that has been remixed and remastered along with brand new stuff. If you know Fold, you’ll know this means splicing spoken word material from inspirational activists and poets with cinematic beats. The title track is a case in point as the words of essayist, poet, activist and teacher June Jordan originally addressed to George Bush Sr. during the 1990/91 Gulf War are reloaded and aimed at both the current incumbent and whoever may win next month.
