Right – the band is Feed LA and the track is Feed Lala. Got that? Good. And you know the lineup for Feed LA (the band, remember?) consist of members of future-jazz group Faruk Green and…members of German funk outfit Poets of Rhythm who arguably kicked off the funk-soul revival in 1993 with debut LP Practice What You Preach – often imitated, rarely bettered. No? Ah well – now you do. Anyway, Feed LA’s second LP drops this July and before that comes single Feed Lala which is a fat slice of library music-style funk that seems to take Q-Tip’s line from Can I Kick It?, “Rock and roll to the beat of the funk fuzz/ Wipe your feet really good on the rhythm rug,” literally. Also the cover art is the same colours as one of the Liquorice Allsorts. What’s not to like?
