DANCEFLOOR OUTLAWS: Delusions EP (2013)

Dancefloor Outlaws a.k.a DJ/producers Will ‘Streetwise’ and Robin Parris pull down the brims of their stetsons and pull up bandanas to cover their faces for the Delusions EP – the taster for forthcoming album Delusions Of Grandeur. I wore a pink Stetson when djing once. Not by choice of course – some drunk bird put it on my head while I was on the cut. I told her I drew the line at kinky shit though, when she wanted to wrap a scarf around me. These Outlaws draw a line at nothing however and the LP promises to deliver everything from hip-hop and breakbeat to dnb, moombahton and (gahhh) house. Slags. This all original four-tracker evinces fine pop sensibilities throughout and features jacking ghetto-funk/UK hip-hop hybrid You Hear Me, darkly house-y Stella Attar vehicle Long Dark Road, and the Freestylers-ish Yes. What it’s really all about though are the summer-party breaks-hop vibes of Natty-featuring Flow – which I’ve just discovered is all set to to be the first single off the album. Great minds think alike. Flow vid below – EP player below that.
(Out 15 May on Sub Funk)
