Nice little Studio One cover here as Booker Gee puts his spin on funky reggae nugget Greedy Gee. But wait a minute, you’ve heard that tune before and it wasn’t from Studio One either was it? No it certainly wasn’t – step forward Mr James Brown – good foot first if you don’t mind – for yes, back in the day Greedy Gee, was a tip of the hat from Studio One house band, Brentford Allstars, to the new new minister of super heavy funk’s Get On The Good Foot. Booker Gee plays it pretty straight so if you were keen on the original but don’t have a copy, this’ll be excellent news since the original is tricky to get hold of on 45. Dub version on the flip though? Of course there is!
