[RATING: 5] Prepare yourself for a slice of reggae exotica on the aptly-named Egyptian Love, the new one from Blend Mishkin & Roots Evolution with longtime vocal collaborator BnC. It’s the first single to be lifted from forthcoming Blend Mishkin LP, Unity Of Opposites and takes a sinuous musical path that satisfyingly entangles Arabic melodies in a Jamaican riddim in a gloriously psychedelic manner. BnC of course is all over this with a sung (rather than rapped) vocal and the song, apparently is very much an indicator of what is to follow. And if that’s the case, I think the monkey’s going to be all over it too. Did some one say ‘nearly seven minutes in length?’ it certainly is and you won’t think it too many – enjoy the trip.
