Detroit producer Apollo Brown provides the second of today’s genre-bridging efforts with The Answer. It’s a lushly orchestrated affair that combines the smooth 70s soul of Curtis or Marvin and with the sort of rolling breakbeat once favoured by one DJ Shadow. Before he went all hyphy, obviously.
