ALPACAS COLLECTIVE: Gunkali

“From Bollywood to Lagos, passing through New Orleans,” it says in the PR of new sitar-laced afro-funk bump Gunkali from Alpacas Collective. It’s somehow entirely appropriate then that in synthesizing influences from a multiplicity of countries the band should hail from not a single one of them but from Belgium instead . The single heralds the band’s second long player Big Words due early to mid-November this year on Catalpas Records and should tickle the fancy of anyone with a taste for exotic grooves.
