In the gap between Del The Funky Homosapien’s brace of legendary early 90s solo LPs I Wish My Brother George Was Here and No Need For Alarm and his noughties efforts (among them solo LP No Need For Alarm and two massive Deltron 3030 LPs) – there was his third solo adventure – Future Development. Arguably less well known than other works by Del, the release was arguably problematic with the project dropping first on the devil’s format of cassette tape in 1997 and only appearing on vinyl and cd five years later after Both Sides Of The Brain. Anyway – Rhymesayers (in conjunction with Hieroglyphics Imperium) are here to ensure that Future Development gets the credit it deserves with a high profile metallic blue vinyl re-release and the artwork updated and inspired by the original cover of the 1997 cassette edition. To promote the release, LP highlight – the A-Plus-produced Corner Story has got a brand new lyric video animated by Nate Vrieze in a retro futurist-style.
