SKEEWIFF: The Cat

If you’ve been paying attention to all things Skeewiff of late, you’ll know they’ve returned to Jalapeno Records (which they originally established) for an LP of cover versions of some of the tunes which have inspired their career. In this latest single to be lifted from the forthcoming album, they offer their fresh version of The Cat by way of a tribute to Blue Note artist Jimmy Smith – a Hammond B3 organ pioneer who helped create a new audience for jazz by incorporating 60s funk rhythms and whose work inspired a host of others to put hands to keys.
(Out now on Jalapeno Records)
