SAM REDMORE feat. ABDOMINAL: Mother Earth + video

Currently riding high with his Modulate album, Sam Redmore has just released a new single off it – Mother Earth feat. Canadian rap legend Abdominal. And if you know the LP, you’ll know this is the one about global warming on which the tempo, as the track unfolds, gets increasingly frantic – a bit like the 99% of scientists whose consensus is that urgent action is needed to combat catastrophic man-made global warming and the approximately 86% of the global population who believe them. And all while fossil fuel CEOs and governments lobbied by them move more slowly than glaciers used too before they had the shit melted out of them by a rapidly rising global temperature. What’s not to get you morons? You don’t shit in your own nest! You can’t make a profit if society is collapsing! A lot of you have kids and grandchildren; are you happy to destroy where they’ll be living? Perhaps through the medium of hip-hop Sam n Abs can convert a critical mass of the dumb and selfish with big horns, and five verses from different perspectives – a young child’s, an environmental scientist’s, a corporate CEO (so we can understand why some people are guiding us up shit creek), a polar bear’s, and the view of Mother Earth herself? Will it work? You’d love to hope so but keeping things to a 1.5 celsius increase now seems as likely as a snowball surviving hell. Still, those super yachts aren’t going to pay for themselves are they? PLayer and lyric video below.
