MORLACK: Katakana Edits Vol. 10 (2013)

I’m surprised Morlack finds time to do gigs. His latest is this 5-tracker on digi-label Katakana Edits whereon he works his boogie. Joe Tex’s caboose is loosened on the appropriately-named opener Loose It, free rein is given to squelchy old-school funk breakisms on Let’s Boogie and then we’re edged into disco-breaks territory for Big Pill. That leaves Capital S which is less a Tower Of Power edit than a bullfrog plugged into a bassbin/ drum machine combo and Tough which is so eighties one can only imagine Morlack had to zip into a red pvc jump-suit with shoulder pads in order to make it.
(Out now on Katakana Edits)
