The next 45 from international duo Marcus I Meets aDUBta (and the Black Oak Roots Allstars) is a third cut from last year’s sessions that yielded previous singles Listen Up My Son and Heavy Manners. This new one is based around a heavy one-drop riddim and goes by the name of Mr Money Man intended to evoke Studio One 60s productions (but bearing a bit of a family resemblance to Ansell Collins’ 70s Stalag riddim to boot) on which Marcus I repeats the refrain, ‘Take my uppercut – Mr Money Man’ over production by aDUBTa who’s responsible for playing and recording all the instruments. Over on the flip, it’s all about the dub version mixed live on aDUBta’s Tascam 388. Absolute rudeness! You’ve got plenty of early warning – do not miss out.
