New from funk outfit The Soul Surfers in collaboration with Sunsay comes single After The Storm. And for those with an ear for the symbolic – especially if aware of the provenance of the two acts involved (Russia and Ukraine respectively) – that’s a title with powerful connotations of rebuilding and renewal following great turbulence. So you can expect something suitably calming and downtempo, turning on a crisp drum break and a wistful vocal delivery by Sunsay singer Andriy Zaporozhets. As always from the Soul Surfers camp, it’s an analog recording and comes backed with the instro for extra DJ kicks.
