Classic late sixties Dusty Springfield/ Nancy Sinatra vibes on the new 45 from The Rayvelles with both cuts featuring singer Star Anice. The B-side features the dreamy glory of Your Eyes which will appeal to lowrider soul fiends. Those who feel any track is best served underpinned by a fat funk drum break however should head straight for the A-side where they will recognise a cut lifted from the band’s 2024 self-titled debut long player – One Black Candle – which opens with an especially crunchy example of such. And if that floats your boat (which it almost certainly will) you’ll be pleased to hear that there are at least two more Rayvelles 45s on the way. The monkey’s heard the tracks already and they are smokin’ hot!
