You guessed another single was going to follow March’s This Feeling from The Allergies but you weren’t perhaps expecting something as monstrous as new one Dig It Up. So prepare to be steamrollered by this heavyweight, boom-bap party juggernaut which features live bass from Fingathing’s Sneaky channeling such Cypress Hill classics as Lick A Shot and I Ain’t Going Out Like That while Dutch MC Blabbermouf and Ugly Duckling’s Andy C trade battle bars over the top. It’s a beast. What to do for a video though? Maybe get Maculate on board to have animated versions of Andy and Blab dig up radioactive goo that mutates them into gigantic kaiju versions of themselves destroying the mic, destroying cities, destroying mecha-dj incarnations of The Allergies and then destroying themselves. Wait, what!? It’s alright, the story is rebooted (minus the goo origin bit) no fewer than three times in three different animation styles across the track’s duration until the final scene. In that, we see The Allergies sat on the shoulders of theiranimated kaiju emcees bestriding the colossal devastation they have wrought like they will when this gets peformed live. Well maybe not the shoulders bit. I told you it was a beast.
