Another one for the hip-hop heads as AE Productions recently dropped the 10th Anniversary Edition of Paul Nice & Phill Most Chill’s back-to-hip-hop-basics The Fabreeze Brothers long player. Originally released in 2015, the album has already had two long sold-out pressing runs but due to the clamours for a third, the latest version has not only finally appeared but while the vinyl, cd and non-bonus tape cassette all have the same tracklist as the original LP, there are a few things that might compel you to dip into your wallet again.
First up, original cover artist Mr Krum has tweaked the vinyl gatefold sleeve while the vinyl labels have been finessed to better complement what is now red and yellow and yellow and red splatter vinyl on the two wax discs respectively. A limited edition double cassette box set includes both the original LP and a bonus tape featuring all the remixes, alternative versions and bonus tracks on the original single B-sides along with two cuts from the promo-only LP sampler that ultimately never made it onto the album. Said ‘Bonus Tape’ also comes as a standalone release for those who bought the original tape and don’t need all the official LP tracks again on cassette. Should you have all the original Fabreeze wax and not be partial to the devil’s format, there is also the ‘Betamax of audio’ format to consider too for, yea, verily, the LP cometh on a very limited number of mini-discs too – quite possibly because label boss Mr Fantastic still has his own mini-disc player! Also, all available formats come with a download card so you can cop all the goodness (from PMC’s Bandcamp page so shit stays indy!) to play on your phone. Despite only a fortnight having elapsed since the album dropped, you might already struggle to find the vinyl (again) and the cd – though the cassette and mini-disc are still available or even forthcoming – check with your favourite supplier!
