PARIS DJs presents: (Mix 400) Main Squeeze Funk & 70s Crossover Covers (2012) MB exclusive free download

MB’s Parisian homies parisdjs.com are forging ahead with transforming into a record company and finally lay to rest their long-running series of podcast/freely downloadable mixes in an epic finale. That’ll be an eleven-part (near) simultaneous release of mixes then – one hosted by parisdjs and the others hosted by ten other blogs. I say ‘near’ simultaneous because, of course, getting a group of bloggers to do anything is like herding cats. Nevertheless, monkeyboxing.com is one of the ten ‘other’ blog hosts for mixes besides parisdjs.com and we are exclusively charged with sharing the mighty Main Squeeze Funk & 70s Crossover Covers with the world. Monkey got a brand new bag!

And Main Squeeze Funk & 70s Crossover Covers is just that – twelve covers of classics in a seventies funk stylee by a range of contemporary funk crews including Floyd Lawson – though he’s arguably less ‘contemporary’ and more ‘still going’ despite a mammoth thirty-five year break between gigs. Expect to find the likes of Lefties Soul Connection, King Curtis, Osaka Monaurail and monkey favourites Deep Street Soul among the contributors with several JB cuts, The Prodigy’s Smack My Bitch Up and blues rock standard Have Love Will Travel getting the 70s funk treatment. All mixing was done by parisdjs dudes Djouls and Grant Phabao while the stunning Mucha-esque artwork comes via the talented hands of Ben Hito. Full tracklist and details below DL link – links to the list of the other ten mixes and respective blog hosts HERE.

    1. Just tried it and it works for me. Have you done all the usual shit e.g. cleared cache, tried another browser/ computer/ network?

  1. “Sorry, the free service is at full capacity.”

Could you just simply add it to soundcloud or mixcloud or something that is less crappy? Ta.

BTW awesome mix, but still a few I’ve happened to miss so I NEED to get this ASAP. Get on it!
