I know it’s tricky when you’ve had to clean ice off the inside of your car windscreen this month to even think about hanging out in a field listening to music in approximately ten weeks’ time but actually that is when Ghetto Funk are due to hold their annual shindig known as – er – the Shindig Weekender. Tearing shit up on the decks this year are the likes of DJ Yoda, A Skillz and Stanton Warriors. Big names you might think – and yet these three aren’t even the headliners! Nope, for that you can expect Beardyman, Dub Pistols, LTJ Bukem and Andy Weatherall! Blimey – things have gone large. So large in fact that the event is number two in the Independent newspaper’s top ten list of festival season events for 2016. The whole shebang will be ‘funkin’ for peace’ in memory of Fort Knox Five’s Jon Horvath from 27-29th May, this year.
