Never a man to let b-boys and girls go unsupplied with dancefloor ammunition for long, Whirlwind D has just dropped his new single – a remix of Sambuca off last year’s Libra LP from Smoove – never a man to let a beat go by without jacking it up as much as possible. Gone are the jazzy Rhodes-led piano tinklings and skippy lil’ drum pattern of the original to be replaced with fat P-funk era synths and a simpler, chunkier rhythm. D’s vocals are still in place though; it’s also still named after possibly the most disgusting liqueur known to man and it’s still a celebration of pre-gig hijinks. Shots all round! Also comes with the instrumental on the flip – only a hundred hand-stamped copies though – don’t sleep.
