You’ve got to love capital letters – they are, after all, partly responsible for the semantic difference between ‘helping your uncle jack-off a horse’ and ‘helping your Uncle Jack off a horse.’ They can also assist when it comes to the traffic. Without capitals, we’re clearly referring to a scourge of our times. With, on the other hand, and we’re suddenly on about The Traffic (a project featuring drummer Ivan Khatchoyan of Cookin’ On 3 Burners and Mayfield), famed for monster organic funk instro covers of monster pop hits new and old. Having previously ‘done’ Grandmaster Flash, The Prodigy, Jimi Hendrix, and Skrillex, the Oz outfit now provide further floor-filling action by taking on the ‘naked funk’ of Rick James’ Super Freak and Timberlake/ Neptunes collab. Like I Love You. And if those don’t fly the night away, I don’t know what will.
