The first of a promised run of singles across the summer and early autumn from The Hempolics in the run-up to their KCT3 LP is this digital drop featuring Fisherman Row and Night & Day. The former finds Nubiya Brandon on lead vocals soulfully exploring the issue of race through a personal lens over an atmospheric dubby riddim that throws convention to the wind by making use of a snare on the ‘one.’ The latter meanwhile, is of course a cover of Toots & The Maytals classic early reggae cut Night & Day – distinctive for its (at the time) uncharacteristic use of a minor key and now given a twenty-first century makeover with King Zepha on lead vocals and additional vocal grit from Horseman. Also comes with a Night & Day dub!
