Everybody’s favourite hussar funkers return with a version of one of the Four Seasons’ biggest hits. That’ll be The Diasonics then with their take on the much covered northern soul classic, Beggin.’ An instrumental, the track retains its uptempo nature while going heavy on the funky wah and also now possessing a cinematic soundtrack flavour and Eastern exoticism due to the band’s distinctive instrumentation. The flipside on the other hand, also an instrumental, finds the band more or less ditch any traditional Russian musical influence for an exceptionally groovy slice of squelchy Hammond-led dancefloor funk entitled Take One which is at least as good as the A-side. The release was produced and mixed by Henry Jenkins known for his production work with Surprise Chef and the limited vinyl 7″ will appear on March 8th.
