Following a number of singles prior to the release of The Bongolian’s psychedelic, paisley-patterned, Indian Summer Of Love LP last summer comes a new single to remind you of its greatness – the double A-sided Acid Test Angel b/w Beyond The Perfumed Garden. The first of these provides enough guitar fuzz plus Hammond and hypnotic drum and bongo breaks madness to fuel an entire coast-to-coast LSD-fuelled road trip. So far, so groovy, but what happens when you venture Beyond The Perfumed Garden my children? Well, apart from the fact that the fuzz guitar is replaced by the buzz of a sitar, we’re otherwise floating in much the same musical paradise. Which is to say, a good thing. The bad news is that this is a digital-only affair but the good news is – another single is set to follow which will include an unreleased track from the Indian Summer Of Love sessions!
