THE ATA LIBRARY ARCHIVE feat. THE SORCERERS: Kaunus Baltic Connect/Baby I Don’t Care (Vinyl 7″)

If you’ve been following releases on ATA Records, you’ll know the label is one to watch when it comes to 60s and 70s-influenced library music and the new 45 from The ATA Library Archive featuring The Sorcerers is a case in point. First cut, Kaunus Baltic Connect, is the deepest (thank you, I’m here all week!) ominously dripping in the sort of retro Euro-crime-funk stylings once the preserve of Calibro 35 while the flipside provides the breeziest of smoky Soho Club-style Hammond-led funk groovers in Baby I Don’t Care, complete with a not one but two fat bongo breakdowns that’ll have dancefloors going crazy. At the very least a rival to The Sorcerers’ In Pursuit Of Shaid Halud for the best 45 the label has put out to date. And if you caught said previous wax, you’ll know that’s no faint praise!
(Vinyl out now/ Digital out 18 October on ATA Records)
